Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Hons.) at GlobalNxt University is a comprehensive and industry-relevant programme designed to prepare competent, reflective, and future-ready early childhood educators. Delivered through a flexible Open and Distance Learning (ODL) model, the programme enables aspiring educators to pursue a recognised degree while balancing professional and personal commitments. 

The programme provides learners with a strong foundation in child growth and development, early childhood pedagogy, curriculum design, assessment, inclusive education, child protection, family and community engagement, and leadership in early years settings. Learners are also exposed to emerging digital technologies, creative teaching approaches, and entrepreneurial perspectives that are increasingly important in today's educational landscape. 

Through a combination of structured online learning materials, interactive discussions, workplace-based projects, webinars, and supervised practicum experiences, graduates will develop the knowledge, skills, and professional dispositions required to support children's holistic development and well-being in diverse early childhood environments. 

Upon graduation, learners will be equipped to contribute meaningfully to early childhood education settings, engage effectively with families and communities, and uphold professional, ethical, and sustainable practices that support quality early childhood education.

Who is eligible?

Entry Requirements 

  • A pass in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any TWO subjects; OR
  • A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid; OR
  • A certificate in Matriculation or Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00; OR
  • A Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM)/Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM)/Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) in ECE subject to the HEP Senate/Academic Board’s approval. The University will conduct screening and provide relevant bridging courses; OR
  • A Diploma (Level 4 MQF) in the relevant fields with at least a CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00; OR
  • Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian government as equivalent to the above requirements.
  • Achieve a grade in the MUET or any competency test equivalent to a Low B2 in the CEFR.

GlobalNxt University also welcomes applicants with any of the following or their equivalent qualifications: 

  • A Level
  • International Baccalaureate (IB)
  • South Australian Matriculation (SAM)
  • Indian Standard XII Higher Secondary School Certificates, and others

Admission through specific qualification pathways is subject to approval by the University Senate or Academic Board, in compliance with MQA requirements.
