Statement of Commitment

GlobalNxt University is committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and equitable learning and working environment for all students, staff, and stakeholders. We celebrate diversity and promote equality in everything we do—across teaching, research, student support, leadership, and governance.

We believe that an inclusive culture enriches learning and inspires innovation. Our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) is rooted in our core values and embedded in our strategic vision of delivering accessible, globally recognised, and future-ready education.

Purpose of the Policy

This policy outlines our commitment to:

  • Promote equality of opportunity for all, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or belief, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or family status, socio-economic background, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
  • Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment, victimisation, and bullying.
  • Foster a culture of dignity, respect, inclusiveness, and mutual understanding across our global community.
  • Embed EDI principles into all University operations, including admissions, recruitment, teaching, assessment, leadership, decision-making, and student services.

Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All students (past, present, and prospective)
  • Academic and professional staff
  • Contractors, consultants, and third-party partners
  • Governing bodies and institutional representatives
  • Any individual or organisation representing or acting on behalf of the University

It covers all University-related activities—online and on-campus—including learning delivery, assessment, recruitment, marketing, events, collaborations, and administration.

Guiding Principles

We are guided by the following principles:

  • Equity: We provide fair treatment, access, and opportunity for all, removing systemic barriers to participation and success.
  • Diversity: We value and respect the unique contributions of individuals from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
  • Inclusion: We actively create an environment where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to fully participate and thrive.

Implementation and Responsibilities

The University will:

  • Provide EDI awareness and unconscious bias training to staff and leadership.
  • Ensure inclusive policies, procedures, and communication across all operations.
  • Monitor and review data (e.g., student achievement, staff progression, feedback) to identify and address disparities.
  • Ensure digital learning platforms are inclusive and accessible by design.
  • Support student and staff networks and encourage representation from diverse groups.
  • Promote flexible, inclusive practices in recruitment, curriculum design, and student engagement.

Staff are expected to:

  • Promote a culture of respect and inclusivity.
  • Challenge and report discriminatory behaviour or unfair treatment.
  • Model inclusive teaching and professional behaviour.

Students are encouraged to:

  • Treat others with respect and courtesy.
  • Value diversity in collaborative learning environments.
  • Report any concerns regarding discrimination, harassment or exclusion.

Reporting and Support

We encourage open communication and provide a safe space to raise concerns. If you experience or witness discrimination, harassment, or exclusion, please report it to EDI Support & Grievance Team at advisor@globalnxt.edu.my.

All reports are handled confidentially, in line with University grievance procedures.

Monitoring and Review

This policy is reviewed annually to ensure it remains relevant, effective, and aligned with global EDI standards. We engage students and staff in the review process and publish an annual EDI progress report to maintain transparency and accountability.
